Artist statement

Paula Fitzpatrick is an Irish visual artist who engages in sculptural work, drawing influence from a background in Couture and making things.

The choice of material is important in realizing Paula's vision of a piece of work. By utilizing materials such as metal and wood, Paula's work often engages in geometrical and architectural compositions. Balance is an important aspect, and can dictate the composition and form of the work.

Paula also uses clay and porcelain to compose a three dimensional visualization of the sense of loss, under the theme 'The Presence of Absence'.

Paula is currently exploring the mediums of Printmaking to create work at Graphic Studio Dublin.
